Our Story
Contemporary adire, rooted in Yoruba craft.
Àṣọ Adire is a ready-to-wear label built on the indigo, tie-and-dye textile tradition of the Yoruba people. Founded by Cynthia Omisore, every piece is hand-dyed and made-to-order, honoring a centuries-old craft while designing for how women actually get dressed today.

ILÉ
ee-LAY · Meaning: Home (Yoruba)
A return to our roots.
ILÉ is our debut collection, a tribute to Yoruba craftsmanship, interpreted through modern ready-to-wear silhouettes. Every piece is thoughtfully designed to move effortlessly between everyday elegance and special occasions, honoring the artistry of Adire (tie & dye) while embracing the rhythm of contemporary life.
Home is not always a place. Sometimes it is the fabric that remembers where you came from.
The Craft
Every piece begins as resist and indigo.
Resist
Raffia and starch paste are bound onto cotton, mapping the pattern before dye touches the cloth.
Dye
The bound cloth is submerged in natural indigo until exposed fibres deepen to blue-black.
Rest
Left to cure, the indigo sets into the weave, the source of adire's depth.
Reveal
Ties are cut away, revealing the pattern that becomes each garment.
“She is not buying fabric. She is buying identity, pride, and the feeling of being seen.”
Cynthia Omisore, Founder
